Conduct After Capture (CAC) Course
One week course designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to behave / resist during captivity and survive with dignity.
- Employ conflict de-escalation techniques during simulated non-governmental detention
- Resist exploitation as a captive during simulated non-governmental detention
Course duration is 1 week*.
- PHASE I: Consists of classroom instruction and short practical exercises
- PHASE II: A CAC practical exercise, conducted according to the regulations described in the ISTC CAC Directive
Students must possess a NATO SECRET security clearance. The course is psychologically demanding. Units should carefully assess their students before allowing them to attend this course due to the mental and physical demands of the program. Students must arrive in sound medical and psychological condition and bring with them a signed Fit to Attend Form(click to download). Students must score 50% or higher on the Defense Language Institute English Language Center (DLIELC) English Comprehension Level (ECL) Test. Dress throughout the course is civilian clothes. Graduation will be in military uniform.
