Close Quarter Battle (CQB) Course
Three week basic level course designed to train students on the principles of effectively operating as a single team (up to six assaulters) in an urban environment. The course is not designed to be a marksmanship course but students will receive instruction and practical application on rifle / pistol reflexive fire and stress tests.

Course duration is 4 weeks*.
Phase I: Reflexive, dynamic shooting and basic marksmanship using rifle and pistol.
Phase II: Clearing rooms and buildings.
Students should be thoroughly proficient on the safe handling of rifles and side arms. Students must arrive in sound medical condition and with the completed / signed Medical Clearance form, Part 1:
Students must pass a Basic Fitness Test (BFT), which is a cross-country speed march / run in BDUs and military boots (7 km in 52 minutes or less while carrying a rucksack/bergen weighing 20 kg / 44 lbs). Students must score 60% or higher on the Defense Language Institute English Language Center (DLIELC) English Comprehension Level (ECL) Test. WEAPONS AND AMMUNITION
ISTC will provide a complete Weapon System and equipment for students attending this Course. Students may bring their own complete Weapon System, night sight, night vision goggles, simkit (FX ) and equipment if desired. In case the weapon system or the simkit is not the same as the one currently used by ISTC, please provide the Branch Cadre with details, in this case also ammunition for live fire and simkit must be brought by the students.
Students will wear nationally approved BDUs (or equivalent) and equipment during training. The items on the PDF list are the minimum essential equipment required for the course.
