NATO Unconditionally Accredited Education & Training Facility

The International Special Training Centre (ISTC) is a multinational Education and Training Facility (ETF) based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), undersigned by the nine member nations (Belgium, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Turkey, Romania, and the USA in the role of the Lead Nation). It aims to provide advanced and specialized training, at the tactical level, for Special Operations Forces (SOF) and similar units from the MoU, NATO and Partnership for Peace (PfP) nations. ISTC is co-located in the same barracks (Staufer Kaserne) with the German national Special Operations Training Centre (SOTC).

ISTC Mission:

Since 1979, the International Special Training Centre (ISTC) provides advanced, specialized training for Special Operations Forces (SOF) and similar units in the vicinity of Pfullendorf, Germany in order to increase capability & interoperability among the nine signatory nations (BEL, DEU, ITA, GRC, NLD, NOR, TUR, USA and ROU) as well as other NATO Allies and Partners using the “Smart Defence” strategy.

ISTC Vision:

ISTC recognized as a “Go To” Tactical Level Special Operations Education & Training Facility. ISTC maintains our Quality Management System as a NATO Accredited Institution. All Instructors are trained Subject Matter Experts. ISTC delivers the SOTG Operations Planning, Military Assistance, TCCC Train the Trainer and NSOCM Courses as “Approved” NATO Courses. The ISTC continues to deliver the highest quality advanced & specialized Combat, Sniper, Planning and Medical Courses in support of National Requirements.
